To make a booking of the hall or grounds, please

 i)  Read our Terms and Conditions for hire.

 ii) Click HALLMASTER  (you will need to create a user account to make a booking).  

iii) We are proud of our recycling - read our waste management instructions at the bottom of the page.

 

Shrewton Village Hall

1. Event Booking & Payment

- All bookings over 75 persons must be secured with a deposit in advance.

- Full payment must be received no later than 5 working days before the event. 

2. Usage & Responsibilities

- The hirer is responsible for ensuring that the hall is used respectfully and in accordance with local regulations.

- Any damage or excessive mess must be reported immediately to the hall management.

3. Cleaning & Waste Disposal

- The hirer must leave the hall clean and tidy, including disposing of all waste responsibly.

- The oven must be cleaned after use.

- Chairs, tables, and other equipment must be returned to their original positions.

- Any spillages or stains must be cleaned appropriately. 

4. Penalties for Leaving the Hall in a Mess

- If the hall is left in an untidy or unsanitary state, an additional cleaning fee of £60 will be charged.

- The hirer may lose part or all of their deposit if excessive cleaning is required.

5. Damage & Liability

- Users are liable for any losses, personal accidents or injuries during their time of hire at the Rec. In addition, all hirers are responsible for carrying out their own risk assessments before they any of the Rec’s facilities.

- This liability is a condition of hire, and must be acknowledged and accepted during the booking process whether the booking is made directly by the user or by a request to the book the Rec though the booking staff.

6. Cancellation Policy

- Cancellations made within 5 working days of the booking will not be eligible for a refund.

7. Noise & Conduct

- Noise levels must be kept within reasonable limits, especially during late hours. 

- Antisocial behaviour or illegal activities will result in immediate termination of the booking without refund. 

By proceeding with the booking, the hirer agrees to comply with these Terms & Conditions. Failure to follow these guidelines may result in penalties, loss of deposit, or refusal of future bookings.​​

Terms & Conditions for Hirers

♻️ Waste Management
Shrewton Village Hall

🟩 1. General Principles
• Hirers are responsible for removing all waste they generate unless prior arrangements are made with the Hall Committee.
• Only clean, correctly sorted recycling may be placed in the hall’s recycling bins.
• The hall must be left in the same condition it was found.

🟦 2. Recycling 
Our provider accepts the following in the large red-topped recycling bin:
This recycling can also be placed in the smaller labelled bins.
✔️ Accepted Recycling
• Paper & card (clean, dry)
• Empty plastic bottles, pots, tubs & trays
• Empty aerosols

❌ Not Accepted in Recycling
• Food contaminated waste and food waste
• Black bags, carrier bags, plastic bags or film
• Polystyrene
• Nappies

• Paint tins

• Tissue paper and hand towels

• Glass (must go in glass bin)

• Dirty/contaminated packaging

If contamination is found, the whole bin will incur an additional cost.

🟫 3. General Waste
Our provider accepts the following in the large black-topped general waste bin:
• Food scraps
• Dirty packaging
• Wet wipes, tissues, nappies
• Polystyrene
• Broken items that cannot be recycled

• Lightweight non-recyclables and non-hazardous waste.

 

🟩 4. Glass Disposal

Empty glass bottles and jars should be placed in the labelled red wheelie bin 

 

🟥 6. Prohibited Waste

The following must NOT be left at the hall or placed in any bin:

• Electrical items

• Batteries

• Hazardous waste (chemicals, paint, oils)

• Medical waste

• Large broken equipment

• Construction waste


🧽 7. Cleaning Responsibilities
Before leaving, hirers must:
• Remove all waste from the hall, kitchen, bar area, other areas and outside spaces.
• Wipe surfaces, sweep floors, and leave toilets tidy.
• Ensure no waste is left in the car park or recreation ground. No waste should be left beside bins or overflowing.
